Has anyone taken a Bible and explained how you can be forgiven of all your sins?

Got some Bad News & Good News for you.

BAD NEWS:

  1. Bad News #1:  All have sinned.
    1. Romans 3:23:
      1. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
    2. Illustration:  The Rock
      1. Imagine trying to throw a rock 100 miles.  You can’t do it.  You’d be falling short of the goal.  God’s desire is for us to be perfect, but us being perfect isn’t going to happen of our own accord.  We'd be falling short of His goal for us.
  2. Bad News #2:  The Penalty Of Sin Is Death
    1. Romans 6:23:
      1. “For the wages of sin is death…”
    2. Illustration:  Paycheck
      1. We earn money for work we’ve done.  Likewise, our sin has earned us death.

I’m sure you will agree this is bad news.

However, the Bible contains Good News for you!

GOOD NEWS:

  1. Good News #1:  Christ died for your sins
    1. Romans 5:8
      1. 'But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! '
    2. Illustration:  Cancer
      1. Imagine if you had terminal cancer.  Imagine now if Jesus were to take that cancer out of you… and place it in Him!  He bore it so you don’t have to.
  2. Good News #2:  You can be saved & forgiven through faith
    1. Ephesians 2:8-9
      1. For you are saved by grace  through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — 9not from works, so that no one can boast.
    2. Illustration:  The Chair
      1. When you sit down in a chair, you have FAITH that it will hold you.  If you didn’t have faith in it, would you sit on it?

Is there any reason why you would not trust Jesus right now?

There's nothing magical or special you need to do.

It all starts by recognizing Jesus as the One who can forgive you of your sins, accepting Jesus into your heart and asking Him to be Lord and Savior of your life.

Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

To do this, you can pray a simple prayer like this:

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner who is far from You.  I know that I can not earn my way into heaven.  My only hope is You.  I ask right now that You come into my heart, forgive me of my sins and be my Lord and Savior.   I step forward in my journey of faith with You as my guide.  Thank you for bearing my sins on the cross so I can have eternal life with You and God in heaven.  Amen!

If you prayed this prayer, PRAISE GOD!  Welcome to the family of believers!

We want to celebrate this decision with you and join you in your journey!
